Als die gerade 18-jährige Uma Thurman 1989 in Terry Gilliams The Adventures of Baron Munchausen als makellos schöne Filmvenus der Muschel entstieg, war nicht unbedingt abzusehen, wie ausdauernd sie ihr Gesicht hinhalten würde für ein System, das mit Hollywood, Miramax, Weinstein und Co. sicher nicht ausreichend bezeichnet ist. Dass sich das Gesicht Umas, die von ihrem Vater als »reinkarnierte Göttin« gesehen wird und deren Name im Sanskrit »Glanz«, »Licht« bedeutet und ein Beiname der hinduistischen Muttergöttin Parvati ist, als Projektionsfläche...
