Ellen Spielmann is an affiliated scholar at the Hannah-Arendt-Institute for Totalitarianism Studies of the Technical University
Dresden. She holds a PhD in Latin American Literature from the
Free University of Berlin and has taught at German and Latin
American universities since 2000. In 2008, she was a visiting
scholar at the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Stanford
University (2008). She is the author of several books: Blaise Cendrars Brasilienreisen in den 1920er Jahren (2022), Die Argonauten
der letzten terra incognita. (2018), Samba, Zuckerhut und andere
Siegel für Brasilien (2013), Das Verschwinden Dina Lévi-Strauss’
und der Transvestismus Mário de Andrades (2003).
